Time Flies Like An Arrow, Fruit Flies Like A Banana

This week seriously went by so fast. Like it's actually really hard to believe that it has been an entire week. I've found a couple of things to do to spend my time better this week. First, the Layton mission is piloting a new 12 week training program. So everyday we have about 30 minutes of training activities to do. Second, we got a new area to add to the area we were already serving in. So now it's just me and my companion over 14 wards across 2 stakes. We kinda need a car now though as it takes 2 hours for us to bike up the mountain to the edge of our area. Third, I've been writing. My mom gave me a great idea to write a book about and so this week I started writing that book. I love writing so much. It's so relaxing to me, I just get to sit down, immerse myself in this world, and then write down what I imagine happening in the scenario. Actually, writing this book has reminded me why I wanted to be a sports writer. I haven't even written very much, but that's because I've never written for more than like 6 or 7 minutes at a time. I'm just in my happy place when I'm writing.

I'm not sure why, but this week especially people kept paying for us. Somebody paid for our ice cream, our drinks, our lunch at Sonic, our groceries, our drinks again, our groceries again, another lunch, and somebody else gave us $100 saying half of it was for us and half of it was to bless somebody else's life. We haven't found anybody to help yet, but we're still looking how best to use the $50 for somebody else. People's kindness to us is awesome. Of course, there are still people who flip us off and mock us, but overall it's a net positive.

We did a lot of service this week. We still take shifts at the Tabernacle and we also helped move it to the next city (which is still in our mission). Then on Saturday, we left at 10am and were out serving until 6pm. First we helped somebody move a huge pile of rocks from their front yard to the back. Then, we went over to another house and helped them renovate their bathroom. We just did the demolition of it so we took out the shower, including the drain, we took out all the tile, and we took out the wall. It was fun, I love it whenever we get to do service. So far that has been my favorite part of the mission, just serving others doing whatever random task they need help with.

                        Enjoy your week, Elder Blacker
