Guns And Middle Fingers
Admittedly the title is clickbait..... sorta.
This week has been nothing like I expected, we have 0 people in our area to teach right now, so the days have mostly been the morning routine (breakfast, exercise, personal & companionship studies) and then not much. Mostly biking/walking around without much purpose and then having a member lesson or two.
Despite this lack of missionary work going on I'm content, I enjoy being with my companion and the other missionaries at the apartment. It's kinda funny, my companion swears all the time. There isn't a single word he's afraid to say, I've heard it all.
Anyways, I enjoy everybody I've been around, especially the members. On my first day, somebody just randomly handed me a $100 bill. I kinda just stared at it for a second like, what? Then I accepted it and said thank you. There's also been a couple members who let us come by whenever we want to get a drink, so I've been drinking a lot of soda, which does not help me bike. I am so out of shape, my companion just leaves me in the dust, while I'm huffing and puffing up a hill, it's not fun biking up a hill.
While most people here love us, there definitely are people who do not. 3 or 4 times a car drove by and they flipped us off and yelled something at us, it's typically inaudible though. Then one night me and my companion were walking home and two guys stopped us and it took 2 seconds for us to know they were high. In fact, we could see the weed in their car, but anyways they told us a bunch of gibberish and then handed us this bright orange cap gun so that we can "carry it around to protect ourselves" and "use it wherever we need to."
Overall, I'm content here though. With general conference and Easter coming up, we're expected to have people to teach soon, so that's exciting.
